Hazrat Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (Radiyallahu Anhu) was a kind and strong man. He was born in Makkah. He came from a respected family. He was good and helpful from a young age. He liked to use a bow and arrow. He became very good at aiming. People knew he was brave and honest. He always spoke the truth.

Early Life and Embrace of Islam

When he was seventeen years old he heard about Islam. The Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him began to tell people to believe in one God. Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (Radiy allahu Anhu) listened and felt it was true. He became one of the first Muslims. He believed in Allah and followed the Prophet.

His mother was not happy. She said she would not eat or drink if he stayed Muslim. But Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas(Radiyallahu Anhu) was strong in his heart. He said he loved his mother but he would never leave the truth. He stayed kind to her. He made dua and kept praying.

Standing for the Prophet ﷺ

One day someone tried to hurt the Prophet. Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (Radiyallahu Anhu) used his hand to stop the man. That was the first time a Muslim protected Islam with his hand. He felt happy that he helped. But he stayed humble. He always said that he did it for Allah.

Migration to Madinah

When the Muslims moved to Madinah Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (Radiyallahu Anhu) went too. He left his home and money. He wanted to stay with the Prophet. In Madinah he helped the people. He prayed every day. He gave food to poor people. He was kind to children. People in Madinah liked him. He was gentle and strong. He loved the mosque and the Quran.

Battles and Bravery

Hazrat Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (Radiyallahu Anhu) fought in battles to protect Islam. He showed courage in the Battle of Badr. He used his bow to keep the Prophet safe. The Prophet made dua for him. He said Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (Radiyallahu Anhu) was a good uncle. That made Sa’d happy. But he stayed simple. He did not become proud.

In the Battle of Uhud and other battles he stayed close to the Prophet. He never ran away.

Leading the Army in Qadisiyyah

Later the Caliph Umar (Radiyallahu Anhu) asked Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (Radi yallahu Anhu) to lead the army. Sa’d (Radiy allahu Anhu) led the Muslims in the Battle of Qadisiyyah. It was a big battle. Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (Radi yallahu Anhu) made plans and asked everyone to trust Allah. Even when he was sick he gave orders from his bed. The Muslims won. Many people accepted Islam.

A Life of Generosity

Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas (Radi yallahu Anhu) did not love money. He gave most of it away. He helped poor people. He built wells so people could drink water. He gave food and clothes. He said he did it for Allah.

He gave advice to the Caliphs after the Prophet. He said be kind and fair. Help the people and follow the right way.

Final Years and Legacy

When he became old he prayed more and read the Quran every day. He told young people to love the Prophet and do good deeds. He smiled and told stories about the Prophet.

When he got very sick he said he was ready to meet Allah. He passed away with peace. Everyone made dua for him. They remembered how he helped Islam. He was brave and honest. He was kind and strong. He gave his life to help the Prophet.

Lessons from His Life

Today we remember him with love. We learn to be like him. We learn to tell the truth and help others. We learn to follow Allah. We ask Allah to give him Jannah. Ameen.
