Equality in Islam: A Religion of Justice and Fairness for All

Equality in islam: Islam preaches equality without discrimination of caste, colour or status. It does not make any difference between an Arab and non-Arab. During the days of early Islam, the khalifd had the same rights as an ordinary slave.

Hazrat Bilal(Razi allah tala anh), a Negro slave enjoyed the same status as the Muhajirin and Ansars. The lesson of equality preached and practised by the Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam has no parallel in history. He provided an example of the equality he preached by marrying his own cousin Hazrat Zainab(Razi allah tala anh) to Hazrat Zaid(Razi allah tala anh), a freed slave.

The Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam did not have any separate seating arrangement for himself in the mosque and would sit with his companions. He took part in the construction of Masjid-e-Quba and Masjid-e-Nabawi and also helped his companions in the digging of the trench during the battle of Ahzab. Rich and poor, slaves and masters, rulers and ruled are all equal in Islam which removed all distinctions of caste, colour and tribal superiority.
