Zakat is the fourth pillar of Islam and it is very important for all Muslims because it teaches us to care for others and to give something from what we have to people who are poor or in need and Allah loves those who help others and give with a kind heart.
When we give Zakat we become better Muslims and we make Allah happy and we help people smile and feel better. Zakat is not just giving money but it is also giving food or clothes or anything that can help someone who has less and when a person has enough money saved they must give a small part of it to the poor once a year and this is called Zakat.
Allah tells us in the Quran to give Zakat and not to be selfish and not to forget the poor.
Zakat Cleans the Heart and Brings Blessings
When we give Zakat we clean our hearts and our money and our soul and the money we give makes us feel happy and thankful and it makes us think of others and not just ourselves.
The Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him always gave to the poor and he told his friends and family to give Zakat too.
Zakat is not just for big people even little children can learn to give and share with others and if we have two toys and our friend has none then we can give one to them and that is also like Zakaat.
If we have many clothes and we see someone wearing old clothes we can give them new clothes and that is also Zakat and Zakat helps make the world better and kinder and it brings love between people.
Allah gives us more when we give others and we should not be proud or show off when we give Zakat because we are doing it for Allah and not for people to praise us.
Give Secretly and with a Happy Heart
When we give in secret Allah is more happy and the angels write our good deeds and keep them safe and on the Day of Judgment we will see all the good we did and we will be so happy that we gave Zakat and helped others.
Zakat is a duty for all Muslims who are able and it helps poor people buy food and water and clothes and even go to school and learn and when we give Zakat we are helping families live a better life.
We are making dua with our action and our hands and our hearts and even a smile is charity and even helping someone carry a bag is like charity.
The Prophet peace be upon him said that giving charity does not make us poor but makes us rich in heart and we must teach our brothers and sisters to give Zakat and to love helping people and never laugh at the poor or think we are better because Allah gave us more.
Zakat Is the Bridge to Paradise
He can give more to others too and everything we have comes from Allah and we are just keepers of our things and we must use them in good ways.
If someone gives Zakat they should do it with a happy heart and not feel sad because they are helping someone who really needs it and that makes the world full of love and care and it makes Allah very happy with us.
When we go to Jannah we will see how many rewards we got because we gave Zakat and the Prophet told us that Zakat is like a bridge to Jannah and that means it helps us go to Paradise.
We must never forget the poor because they are our brothers and sisters and they need our help and we can start today by giving something small to someone in need and we can make dua for the poor and ask Allah to give them food and peace and health.
If we see someone hungry we should feed them and if we see someone cold we should give them a blanket and if we have a coin we can put it in the charity box and that can be Zakat too.
Every small good action counts in Islam and Allah sees it all and the more we give the more we grow and we must not be greedy and keep everything for ourselves and we must learn to give like the Prophet gave and share what we love the most.
When we do that we become close to Allah and we become true Muslims and that is why Zakat is a pillar because it holds up our faith and makes our Iman strong and clean and pure.
